Barcelona, 1929

Mies, considering that designing a chair could be much more challenging than building a skyscraper, created the Barcelona Chair. Tasked with designing a German pavilion during the 1929 Universal Exhibition held in independent and rich Barcelona, it became known as the Barcelona chair. This chair was designed for the Spanish royal family and perfectly presented itself. It fits into the flowing and spiritual spaces of the nights. Cesca Chair, 1929

This seemingly familiar chair model was originally a model by Stam. However, later, Marcel Breuer's Cesca console chair came, combining the modernity of Stam's model with Austria's bent wood and Vienna rattan tradition. Also known as B64 (or in its version without armrest, B32), it entered production in 1929 and has continued to be produced as Thonet S64 (and S32) since then.

Plastic Side Chair, 1950

After Charles and Ray Eames, the most beautiful couple in design history, explored the potential of plywood and aluminum sheets in a wide range, they realized that they needed to focus on a new material that could adapt like a shell, printable and fit the shape of the human body. Hardness, support, and pleasure became the preferred parameters. Among the alternative materials of the plastic industry, they opted for fiberglass-reinforced polyester resin. Thus, the Plastic Side Chair, the first industrially produced plastic chair, was born. It became the best for the most people at the lowest cost. W199, 1951
